Saint-Estephe 2e Cru Classé. Montrose behoort zonder twijfel tot de grote Bordeaux wijnen. Het bewaarpotentieel is hoog. Typerend voor Montrose is de donkerrode bijna zwarte kleur en de enorme kracht reeds in zijn jonge jaren. De smaak is doortimmerd met tonen van gebrand eiken, zwart fruit, eucalyptus en een fraaie kruidigheid. Een wijn die een verhaal vertelt in je mond, een wijn waar je op bijt en een wijn die je na zijn benodigde rijping vastklampt aan je stoel. Montrose moet je veroveren maar dan krijg je ook wat. Een 2e Grand Cru Classé die voor de Premiers absoluut niet onder doet. Robert Parker: 92+ punten.
